Kongeda // The 12 Clans // The Coalition
The Coalition
There are twelve clans within the Coalition headed by the Commander: Trikru (Woods Clan), Azgeda (Ice Clan), Floukru (Boat Clan), Sankru (Desert Clan), Yujleda (Broadleaf Clan), Delfikru (Delphi Clan), Trishanakru (Glowing Forest Clan), Ouskejon Kru (Blue Cliff Clan), Podakru (Lake People), Ingranrona (Plains Riders), Boudalan (Rock Line Clan), and Louwoda Kliron (Shadow Valley Clan). Each clan has its own chief, and is made up of multiple villages scattered throughout the Eastern Seaboard. Each clan also has its own ambassador to the Coalition, who represents the clan's interests before the whole.
Although before Lexa kom Trikru there were smaller alliances, no Commander has reached the heights of Lexa's dynasty. Uniting all 12 Clans, finally bringing an end to Trikru and Azgeda war that has endured the last 50 years, Lexa has done what no other Commander has been able to achieve, peace. How long can it last is uncertain, the Grounders enjoyinh their moment of solice while it lasts, the recent arrival of the Sky People sending waves through the lands and it's people, further cracking the fragile ice of the Coalition. Azgeda still shows resistance, and other Clans question the Commander's strength.
kom Trikru
Tree People The first clan, originally known as Trigedakru, controlled the entire Eastern Seaboard at one point. Under the Command of the First, Bekka Pramheda, they established their capitol at Polis. Alexan, her successor, brought together a great many more survivors of the Cataclysm, and attempted to unify them all as one clan, one people. Timora and Acela followed in his steps, but could not reach their voices to the far corners of the world, and Trigedakru began seperating into other clans, the Ice Nation coming first, their first rival. Trikru lost their southern lands as Yujleda formed, and has been locked in ongoing disputes over land ever since. However despite their seemingly mediocre sized land mass in comparison to Azgeda, Yujleda, Sankru or Louwoda Kliron, there is a huge population centered in Trikru's new capitol, TonDC. Polis serves primarily as a capitol for the Coalition and a means of focal point for all 12 clans, and still falls in Trikru territory. kom Floukru
Boat People kom Sankru
Desert Clan Yujleda and Sankru were the third clans to emerge, seperately, as individuals. It is unknown which was third and which was fourth, however sequence is not important. Sankru was established in the far west, conquering the vast deserts which have expanded over California, Nevada, Utah and Arizona. They are meticulous people of tradition and rituals, who station in valleys to protect themselves from the terrifying natural disasters which haunt the vast valleys and endless deserts. kom Trishanakru
Glowing Forest Clan kom Delfikru
Delphi Clan kom Ouskejon Kru
Blue Cliff Clan |
kom Azgeda
Ice Nation The first clan to rise out from Trigedakru, Azgeda are a cold people in a quite literal and metaphorical meaning. They are the most harsh and brutal of the Eastern Clans, with few allies and even less enemies still alive. Their land stretches far north into the tundras of Canada, though does not dare reach into the Wilds, icy plains which are said to be no man's land, more dangerous than the Dead Zone. Azgeda was created by Natblida Ontari, who ascended through violence and conquer, killing nearly every other nightblood in order to secure the throne for herself, and proclaiming Azgeda as the supreme. She had children and babies slaughtered, searching for any remaining Natblidas, sending the clans into a time of darkness, a time they called ' The Long Winter '. The Long Winter lasted from 2080 - 2100, and was brought to an end by Albait kom Sankru. Since, Azgeda has been fighting their power struggle with the other clans, attempting to regain complete control. kom Yujleda
Broadleaf Yujleda and Sankru were the third clans to emerge, seperately, as individuals. It is unknown which was third and which was fourth, however sequence is not important. Yujleda at first was a small sub-clan of Trikru, located in the tropics of south-eastern North America. Since they have expanded their territories, claiming Trikru lands. It is said many from Louwoda Kliron originally came from Yujleda, hinting that much of their clan culture is reflective of one another. Alike Trikru, Yujleda lives within the woods, but unlike Trikru, Yujleda has many more dangers which lurk within the shadows of the trees, monsterous beasts and creatures of unimagineable horrors, animals and predators afflicted by the radiation. The people of the tropics have learned to live in the tree tops, building their homes high above the main dangers below. They take deep pride in the Great Hunt and their kill, believing each kill absorbs the power like the ritual of killing the Wanheda, and hold Death as a rite of passage, a sacred ritual which is to be honored each and every kill, no matter how insignificant. kom Podakru

Clan Territories
The 12 Clans occupy what was once the United States of America and a large portion of Canada. Each clan controls a territory, and these clans have been at war for over 200 years now fighting for these lands.
below is an original map of the northern Americas, each of the 48 states connected to the mainland of the country divided up into twelve sections based on the new enviornments that arose because of the Cataclysm. All of Quebec and the majority of Ontario are Azgeda territory. Boudalan controls southern Saskatchewan and Manitoba, the northern region of these lands opening up to unforgiving wilds. British Columbia and much of Alberta are filled with similar Glowing Forests such as those located in Trishanakru territory, Ouskejon controlling the southern halves of these woods.
the Great Lakes are divided among the Azgeda, Podakru, and Trishanakru tribes.
Lake Michigan is completely Podakru territory, and the lake where their main force / Capitol is located. They also control parts of Lake Superior, a losing battle that has been ongoing for centuries with Azgeda, and most of Lake Huron, Azgeda clans preventing them from conquering it entirely, and most of Lake Erie.
Trishanakru has gone on to take fractions Lake Erie, though this has lead to small battles for land with Azgeda, so they use it's resources cautiously to avoid the brutal Ice Nation.
Azgeda controls Lake Ontario, the northern most section of Lake Huron, and the majority of Lake Superior. All of this has been through conquest over two centuries of battle with Podakru, one of their top enemies. They use Lake Ontario to attack Trishanakru and Podakru at Lake Erie, the center of most battles on the Great Lakes.

Above is a current map of the 12 Clans Territories, excluding Canada regions and only focusing on the division of land among the United States mainland.
Azgeda mostly controls Canada, though their lands touch down on the Northern-Most North-East states, aswell as borders the Dead Zone and Podakru territory. They were the last to join the Coalition, their greed for more land and power forced to submit to the Commander. Each time a member of Azgeda rises to the seat of Commander, the clan uses this as an opportunity to strike at lesser clans such as Podakru and Trishanakru in attempts to conquer their lands/people, but Trikru has protected the clans with equal force, despite the difference in territory sizes.
Trikru was originally the only clan, Trigeda then, and controlled the entire Eastern seabord. Since the Clans have branched off into sections to better classify by region and peoples, but Trikru remains as the pillar of these Clans. Trishanakru and Floukru owe fealty to Trikru and have remained loyal over the past century since their formation. Delfikru is a loose ally of Trikru, though they have been known to turn their back to the clan before in times of need out of own self interests. Yujleda and Azgeda are their primary enemies, conflicting with both over land disputes, those being the second and third clans to form seperately from Trigeda two centuries ago.
Yujleda is a land filled with tropical tribes, warm climates and expansive jungle terrains stretch across the southern eastern United States region, controlling a majority of the Gulf of Mexico.

The Commander
The Commander — or Heda in Trigedasleng — is the highest rank within the Grounder hierarchy, and sits at the head of the Coalition. While the Sky People associate the term with military leadership, the title is derived from the first Commander — a woman who carried the first Flame. With the rituals and trials associated with the title, it has a religious undertone amongst the Grounders.
Tagspiden (The Speaking of Names)
As part of the rites of Ascension for a new Commander, they are required to speak all the names of every Commander there has ever been. Not only is this list kept by the Commander's chosen Flame Keeper (Fleimkepa), but is also granted to the new Commander upon being given the Flame.
By expanding the below list, you will be given a list of all the Commanders.

The Flame
There is very little that is known about the Flame outside of the Flame Keeper and the Commander. It is talked about like it is a metaphysical object, instead of a physical one. The Flame is passed from the old Commander to the new, and with it, the new Commander is endowed with the spirits of all the past Commanders.
The Flame's symbol is the infinity symbol, and those associated with the Flame are often tattooed with the neverending sigil.
The following information is for Restricted Characters ONLY
The Flame itself is actually a cybernetic implant created by neuroscientist Becca Pramheda. It is a passive artificial intelligence that merges with the an organic brain via the brainstem, and shares and stores information. The Flame produces a projected consciousness that takes on the form of past Commanders, which is where the 'Spirit of the Commanders' comes from. Through these projections, the current Commander is given guidance and memories are shared.
Becca's intent with the AI implant was to help reset humanity to the point where they would be safe from such cataclysms in the future. Her and the other Commander's guidance with the Flame is to ensure that humanity never makes the same mistakes it has in the past.
